Copyright issues

Dear all

I have been asked to publish the following statement on the blog by the College officer responsible for copyright issues:

Under our terms of agreement with the publishers, all registered students and staff are entitled to use the legal databases for research directly connected to College courses. They should not be used for commercial research. If you work part-time, please don’t be tempted to use them on behalf of your workplace.

This term, students have already asked me about getting information from the databases for friends who have now started their training contracts. Please be aware that this is also an infringement of copyright and if you receive requests of this kind I’d very strongly advise you to refuse.
