Lexis and Westlaw: Online Training and Certification

This year Westlaw has replaced its WebEx certification sessions with a new on-line certification training module. There are two levels of certification:

Basic: Introduction covering effective searching, refining results and using status icons to ensure you are using ‘good’ law.

Advanced: Once you have completed Basic, you can move onto Advanced, covering Boolean search connectors, Judicial consideration of case law, legislative modifications and derivation tables, EU and other advanced topics.

To get certified, go to http://uklawstudent.thomsonreuters.com/research-the-law/

Lexis also offer an on-line certification at http://www.lexislibrarycertification.co.uk/ where you have to pass a test made up of 15 questions.
